日本在住ＫＩＷＩから見た日本とＮＺの違い1(日本語＋英訳）
この間11月なのに雪が54年ぶりにふった日本ですが、寒い季節がやって来ました！
日本住まいの方にとって、年末近づくと当たり前なように寒くなります。
一方、私の出身地、南半球にあるニュージーランドですが、日本と逆に年末が近づくと、少しずつ暖かくなります。
日本とニュージーランド両方年末年始ありますが、日本に住んでるニュージーランド人の私ですが、この時期、それぞれの国の過ごし方、休み方などに大きなちかいを感じました。
日本にすんでそろそろ１４年目になりますが、日本に来たばっかりの頃はとにかく ー冬の寒さ ー冬の美しさ に驚きました。
自分が生まれた、ニュージーランドの北島にあるオークランド市ですが、平均14.5℃までしか下がらないので、当然ダウンジャケットは着れず過ごしてます。その代わりに、自分がすんでる関東にあるさいたま市ですが、当たり前なように冬はマイナス１℃になるので、服装は温度に会わせて、暖かく！(笑)
日本では温度とともに、湿度が下がる結果、日中は晴れになり、青空が絵になるくらいきれいの毎日過ごす。だが、からっとしてる天気のうらにとんでもないびっくりありました！
洋服が体にきつく、髪の毛が立つ。。車開けると、ビリッ!立派な静電気で痛い思いしています(笑)
その代わりに、オークランド冬は言葉ひとつにまとめるとしたら、雨 になります。オークランドで静電気は気にしたことがなかったのですが、やはりグレーの空はやや落ち込む気持ちになります。

The other day in November it snowed in Kanto for the 1st time in 54 years! I think we can safely say that winter has started in Japan!
For people living in Japan it's natural that the end of the year brings cold weather. The country I was born in, New Zealand however is on the Southern Hemisphere, meaning as the year comes to an end the weather becomes warmer!
Its the total opposite to Japan!Both Japan and New Zealand recognise and celebrate the end of the year, and the new year that follows. As a Kiwi living in Japan however I've felt and noticed very interesting differences between the two countries.
I've lived in Japan for just under 14 years. When I first started living in Japan I was so taken aback by two things: 1. The real coldness of the winter here And 2. The absolute beauty and atmosphere of the season itself
I was born and raised in Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand. In Auckland, winter is a mere14.5 ℃ at its coldest so I never owned or wore a down jacket before coming to Japan! I live in Saitama City at the moment which over winter, reaches lows of -1℃ so I definately dress very warmly to suit the freezing weather!
In Japan the falling winter temperatues also bring a falling humidity index which means that during the day the weather is crisp, the sky is a perfect blue and the sun shines all day long! The beautiful but dry weather brings a 'shocking' surprise!
Clothes stick to my body..my hair stands on end! When I touch a door handle...ouch!!! I get zapped by static electricity everyday lol!
Over in Auckland however one most notable word to describe winter is wet! I've never had to this about static electricity shocks however the grey and rainy sky can sometimes be a little depressing!
